Rossa U14s travelled to Glen on Sunday for their opening match in the Derry 2010 Feile Na NoG.
Trailing 0-5 to 0-1 at half time Rossa fell further behind conceding a soft goal directly from the throw in at the start of the second half. Points from Michael Lynch and Shea Murphy and a goal from Kieran Lynch gave the team new confidence. A further point from Ronan Young followed closely by a goal from Ronan McCusker left just one score in it with only 2 minutes remaining. With Glen now feeling the pressure Rossa pushed forward but to no avail.
The game ended with one final Glen attack resulting in a score extending their lead to 4 points. Final score Glen 1-11 Rossa 2-4. Best for Rossa were Conor McErlain, Calvin Smyth and Ronan McCusker.
Rossa will look to build on this good initial performance at home to Ballinascreen next Sunday. Training, as usual, on Thursday at 6pm in Meadowbank Sports Arena.
